My name is Eric Jaakkola and I may be interested in the computer position you are looking to fill. This cover letter, and web page exists because it is impossible to summarize my experience with computers on one page in a formal resume. This is a less formal description of my abilities.

I have a long computer background, starting with the Apple IIe personal computer in 1987. I've been in various computer-related fields from sales, to quality assurance, to technical support and hands on troubleshooting and configuration.

The entire job spectrum I have been in has demanded the best customer service, both on a consumer-support level, as well as a business-support level, with emphasis on professional and timely responses / solutions.

My own non-professional experience with computers is very in-depth as well. Right now I have four computers which I assembled, configured, and then networked from scratch. I use the Internet nearly everyday for everything from job hunting, to the TV-Guide, to maintaining my parents real estate web site, www.minnesota-realty.com and updating my hobby homepage about my remote control helicopter.

I see myself in the future working in a highly technical area of the computer industry. I enjoy positions with a variety of responsibilites and working with energetic co-workers. I'm not exactly sure where I want to be in the computer industry 5 years from now, but my guess would be either LAN Administration heading toward wide area networks.
